Spiritual Touchpoints

Spiritual Touchpoints

Heaven → [Home] ← Earth

The earliest structures were designed to unite 2 realms of consciousness: Heaven + Earth

Heaven speaks to the galaxies, gods, stars, and spiritual realm. Earth relates to the soil, minerals, plants, animals, and elements.

Pyramids and ziggurat's formed points, reaching up to the heavens, and begging for spiritual commune. Structures were built as sacred spaces to unite and infuse our dense, embodied realm.

If we look to the earliest iterations of the home, we will see a similar reverence for the natural and celestial world. Windows were placed to perfectly frame the moon, openings aligned to infuse warmth during sunrise and set, and skylights showcased the stars.

A step inside your dwelling meant a resurgence of safety, security, and connection with spirit. Your reverence for the heavenly realm reciprocated a mutual protection from that realm.

Nothing has changed since this time besides a forgetfulness of our innate connection. Home offers an undistracted place where we can effortlessly connect. This is why we often speak about spatial density and clutter. The clogs in our space detract from our connection. They disrupt our Flow.

Our Flow is the energy surrounding every layer of our being, inside and out. Our Flow is also our Life Force. We have the ability to free up Flow (and therefore, Life Force) as we spiritually align our space.

Your Home Is Your Private Temple

At any place on earth, in any moment in time, we have the power to call upon the divine and ignite a spiritual experience, but the home offers a unique container.

The home is our most private environment, where we can express ourselves fully, in a way we likely cannot anywhere else.

Unlike when you are sitting in a garden, at a coffee shop, or at a movement studio, at home, you are soaking in the energy of you. The objects and state of your space holds the emotional imprint of you. Here, the connection you are able to make with Spirit is individualized, privatized, and highly intimate.

Ensouling the Home

Creating an altar is a beautiful way to create a dedicated touchpoint for your divination. Altars contain items that you assign spiritual meaning to. There might be more widely accepted spiritual objects, such as sacred texts, divination cards, or beads such as the rosary or mandala. But in reality, there are no rules. The only rule is that it must symbolize something sacred to you.

Perhaps you found a leaf on the ground during a day you were struggling and seeking help. You held this soft piece of earth in your coat pocket, cradling it for comfort, and a miracle later unfolds that day. When you arrive home and unleash the forgotten leaf, it might suddenly hold meaning to you.

Even though we can divinate at any point in the day, an altar is a place with a concentration of holy energy that allows us to tap in much quicker.

You might notice that even when you are in the mere vicinity of the altar, you begin to transmit messages like an antenna. The energy intensifies in this area.

Ways to Use an Altar:

  • Sit in prayer

  • Ask questions and call upon guidance

  • Express gratitude

  • Meditate

  • Talk as you would with a friend, develop a relationship

  • Receive inspiration

Spiritual Inspiration

Inspire is from the latin word inspirare, meaning to breathe or blow into. To be inspired means that [something outside of us is breathing into us].

Many of us feel called towards a unique purpose in life, even if we struggle to articulate it. We feel as though a force is pouring through us, and we are just the channel. Spirit has simply chosen us as the vessel to manifest this work in the world, and it often comes in the form of overwhelming inspiration.

Building spiritual touchpoints within your home increases the opportunity for Spirit to speak to and through you. It acknowledges and appreciates your reverence.

Micro Altars & Spiritual Touchpoints

Aside from your main spiritual landing pad, I like to create micro alters sprinkled throughout my home, spiritual touchpoints. These are a little groupings of items that spark sacred energy and remind me of my connection to the larger force.

Become Curious

If you struggle to resonate with this information, or you’re not sure which of your items belong on an altar, you might benefit from a trip to your local metaphysical store. Here, the items for sale all revolve around the themes of energy, spirituality, and divination.

Regardless of your level of experience, this is a phenomenal place to spark inspiration. I like to roam and simply see what I am drawn to. What colors, books, animals, or objects am I newly pulled towards? This can teach us a lot about where our soul is looking to deepen, how our energy is evolving, and be an easy means for spirit to speak to and guide us.

Just like waking up from a vivid dream and googling the experiences to understand their symbolism, after your trip to the store, you can investigate why you might have been drawn towards certain items.

When you fill your home with sacred objects, your whole life becomes sacred.
